Herbology
Herbology is the use of plants and other natural products for medicine.
In China, this practice dates back four thousand years and includes thousands of plants and minerals. They’re still commonly used today in traditional herbal formulas, and home remedies, like ginger for nausea, and ginseng for low energy. These days many pharmaceutical companies are synthesizing the chemical composition of Chinese herbs to make drugs. It’s great that the pharmaceutical industry even recognizes the benefits of Chinese herbs, but why wouldn’t you just get them from the original, natural source? Because herbs involve the whole plant and not just the active ingredient, the chances of side effects are much decreased. Chinese herbal medicines can be used for a variety of problems, but I most commonly use them for digestive problems, insomnia, fatigue, headaches, women’s health, allergies, common cold, and stress or other emotional issues. The key is to create a herbal formula specific to what you need. I can customize a herbal formula specific to your body type and any problems you’re having.
Traditionally Chinese herbs are dispensed in raw dried or fresh form, however, for ease of use, I get most of mine freeze dried and pressed into tablet form to make sure they taste best and are as convenient as any other supplement or pill you might also be taking.
